Amazing!!!!!
The notion that women can improve their state in life by "marrying-up" is sexist and old-fashioned. Most of this writing, despite its attempt at evidence by using data and stats, demonstrates a lack of a deeper understanding, not only of the culture, but the ideologies, history, and most important, the socio-political-economic workings of a country very dissimilar in this respect than the US. Finally, what about the other old-fashion idea that women, (as well as men) marry for love, and not to move up??
